Corporación Sembrando Paz y Esperanza was founded six years ago with the vision of bringing hope and stability to displaced communities in Medellín. Many of the families it serves have faced violence, forced displacement, and poverty, leaving children especially vulnerable to hunger, neglect, and lack of opportunity. The organization began by creating safe community spaces where families could gather, access food, and begin to rebuild a sense of belonging.
Today, the corporation supports around 400 children and their families through daily nourishment, education, and recreational activities. A community kitchen provides hot meals to ensure that no child goes hungry, while educational programs include English lessons, tutoring, and vocational training. Sports, especially football, and cultural activities help children develop discipline, teamwork, and joy, while psychosocial support offers a path to healing from trauma. These programs are designed not only to address immediate needs but also to give children the tools to shape stronger futures.
The impact is visible in the lives of children who now grow up in a safe environment, supported by consistent care and opportunity. Families are strengthened, communities become more resilient, and cycles of vulnerability begin to break. Sembrando Paz y Esperanza continues to plant seeds of hope that grow into empowerment, dignity, and long-term change for Medellín’s most marginalized communities.
