Everyday Homeless

Everyday Homeless began as a visual journalism project, documenting the daily struggles of people living on the streets of Medellín. What started as an effort to raise awareness quickly grew into a movement of compassion and action. The team realized that restoring dignity required more than images and stories: it meant meeting immediate needs, amplifying forgotten voices, and creating spaces where those experiencing homelessness could feel seen and valued.

Today, Everyday Homeless works directly in some of Medellín’s toughest barrios, offering food drops, educational workshops, and psychosocial support to people living without shelter. Street theatre and cultural activities bring moments of expression and joy, while community research projects explore how public spaces can be used to improve safety, inclusion, and visibility. A vital part of their mission is also reconnecting members of the homeless population with their families—tracing identities and offering hope to relatives still searching for their loved ones.

The impact of this work extends far beyond basic survival. Each meal, each class, and each performance provides a sense of normalcy and belonging. By combining creativity with concrete support, Everyday Homeless not only helps people endure the challenges of life on the street but also fosters pathways toward reintegration, dignity, and hope for the future.
