Proyecto Florecer

Proyecto Florecer began with the belief that community kitchens could do more than provide meals—they could serve as spaces for dignity, inclusion, and connection. Founded in Medellín, the project started by addressing the immediate needs of vulnerable families, offering food and companionship to those struggling with poverty and displacement. Over time, it became clear that food security was only the first step toward creating meaningful, generational change.

By 2024–2025, Proyecto Florecer had expanded its scope beyond kitchens to include holistic programs that nurture both individuals and communities. Initiatives now include the Academy of Emotional Mastery, vocational training, wellness and mental health workshops, and micro-entrepreneurship projects across five neighborhoods. With up to 28 events each month, the foundation reaches children, women, migrants, and local residents, offering tools to build resilience, confidence, and self-sufficiency. All of this is made possible by a 100% volunteer-driven team, sustained by donations and international collaboration.

The impact is evident in families who no longer face hunger alone, women who develop businesses to support their households, and youth who discover emotional and educational tools for growth. Proyecto Florecer has become more than a social project—it is a movement of solidarity, empowerment, and hope, creating generational change in Medellín’s most vulnerable communities.
